Text Optimizer is an SEO scoring tool available in both free and paid versions.

Its goal: to help you work on the semantic fields of a specific search query or one of your web pages.

How does TextOptimizer work?

The tool is built around two main features:

(1) General audit score (free)

TextOptimizer interface showing a content score of 64%, a list of missing keywords like “marketing strategy”, “SEO”, or “landing-page”, and search engine-detected topics such as “Website design” or “Content-management-system”.

The first one, which is free, allows you to simply enter the URL you want to analyze. You’ll receive a score from 0 to 100%, along with an analysis in three broad categories showing how your content is interpreted. The tool also provides a list of related keywords that can help strengthen your page’s indexing. It’s fast, simple—but fairly general.

(2) Semantic field analysis (paid, more precise)

TextOptimizer interface showing a 100% optimization score for the query “Webflow agency”, with a list of suggested keywords like “web designers”, “responsive design”, and “typography”.

The second approach, which is paid, is much more accurate. You select a search engine, a target query, and your page URL. TextOptimizer then returns a detailed score and a list of keywords to insert into your content to improve its on-page relevance.

Important note: TextOptimizer only works for English-language content. If you’re working in French, there’s a similar tool: 1.fr, designed specifically for French content.

Our take?

Text Optimizer is an intuitive, pleasant tool to use, with real-time scoring that makes the experience almost fun. The free version offers a great overview but is too limited if you’re looking to fine-tune your pages. In that case, you’ll need to quickly switch to the paid version.

Pros

  • Simple and intuitive tool
  • Free version useful for an initial general audit
  • Real-time scoring = gamified experience
  • Keyword suggestions to improve semantic coverage

Cons

  • Free version is very limited
  • Paid version is essential for precise work
  • Doesn’t provide information on your rankings in the SERP

Usage recommendation

We recommend using Text Optimizer as a starting point for a first audit, or testing the paid version in a sprint mode—such as focusing for one month on optimizing as many pages as possible. Also worth noting: the tool doesn’t show your Google rankings, but we’ve published an article presenting three free tools that do.
