Wix is a website builder platform that’s gaining serious momentum!
With the promise of enabling anyone to easily create their own site, the platform now powers nearly 4% of the web.
Wix and Wix Studio
One thing that’s not always clear: Wix actually offers two separate solutions — classic Wix and Wix Studio.
Wix (Classic)

- Target audience: individuals, small businesses, freelancers
- Interface: very simple, drag-and-drop
- Customization: limited
- Use case: fast setup for simple websites
- Code: very limited customization
Simplicity has long been its strength, but also the reason behind its reputation as an “amateur” tool—rarely used by professionals.
However, over the past year, Wix has been working to change this image through new marketing campaigns (influencers, YouTube ads in Webflow style) and especially with the launch of Wix Studio.
Wix Studio (formerly Editor X)

- Target audience: agencies, designers, product teams
- Interface: more advanced, responsive design via breakpoints
- Customization: high-level (grid, layout, positioning)
- Use case: more complex than classic Wix
- Code: little public information available

A clear strategy: to position Wix Studio as a credible Webflow competitor.
Wix’s Position in the Market

Wix currently powers about 4% of the web and claims a 50% growth in acquisition rate over the past 18 months.
Impressive numbers, but they should be taken with perspective: Who are the users, and how many will stick with the platform long-term?
Our Take on Wix
👉 Wix Classic is a decent option for small, one-off sites (events, weddings, small side projects).
👉 Wix Studio ismoving in the right direction, but still technically behind pro tools like Webflow.
