Key points

The collaborative design tool Figma has recently introduced two new plugins that will greatly simplify the feedback process on your mockups.

To provide feedback, Figma already offered the option to add comments directly on the mockup. On the FigJam side, you can even leave audio messages now.

While Figma's commenting feature is widely used, it does have some limitations, particularly when it comes to explaining design choices explicitly or managing the numerous comments that often require opening, responding to, or validating. To overcome these challenges, Figma has launched two new plugins, Vimeo and Loom, allowing users to directly leave video feedback on the mockup.

Vimeo Plugin

The Vimeo integration with Figma allows you to record a video of your mockup and even include yourself on camera while providing your feedback. The plugin works with both Figma and FigJam.

  1. Install the Vimeo plugin for Figma
  2. Access the plugin from a Figma project
  3. Connect your Vimeo account to Figma
  4. Create your video
  5. Add the video directly to the Canvas or share the link
You can also add the Vimeo Chrome extension if you want to record beyond your Figma project.

Loom Plugin

The Figma Loom plugin allows you to embed your Loom videos directly into your Figma Canvas.

  1. Install the Loom plugin for Figma
  2. Add the Loom Chrome extension
  3. Open your Figma project and start a Loom video
  4. From Loom, create a public shareable link: “Anyone with the link can view”
  5. In Figma, open the plugin and integrate the link into the embed.
